Performs actuarial analyses for Medicare Advantage business, including but not limited to: medical expense analyses and projections, financial forecasts, Medicare Part C bid development, regulatory (CMS) filings, ad hoc actuarial analyses/advice as needed, and communicating updates/results to management and associates.
Responsibilities:
- The primary areas of focus are Medicare pricing and CMS bid and supporting documentation development, cross-market bid review support, and developing/updating supporting forecasting and analyses. Other obligations include:
- Using analytical methods such as mathematical and statistical models in bid modeling and financial analyses, for example.
- Ad hoc assessments and projects for corporate-wide or market-specific initiatives.
- Results of analyses are communicated to more senior actuarial team members.
- Participates actively in team and other internal meetings and may give presentations on specific topics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
- 1-3 years of actuarial / data analytics experience is required.
- Excel technical skills are essential.
- Strong mathematical, financial, statistical, and technical abilities are required.
- Detail-oriented individuals who can work independently with little supervision are required.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; written and verbal fluency
- Capability to recognize problem areas and take the initiative to implement solutions.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in healthcare or with Medicare is preferred.
- Data Analytics Experience
- SQL proficiency
If you will be working from home on a regular or permanent basis, you must obtain an internet connection from a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload speeds.
We anticipate offering an annual salary of 61,200 – 102,000 USD / yearly for this position, depending on relevant factors such as experience and geographic location.
This position is also expected to be eligible for an annual bonus plan.
