- This position is part of the Finance Division’s Payroll Strategy Team.
- Auditing, balancing, and timely reporting of payroll tax information to regulatory agencies is your responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll taxes are audited, balanced, and reported on a pay period, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Examines payroll data for accuracy (either payroll processing data or payroll deduction reports, depending on the area of focus) and facilitates corrections when necessary.
- Helps payroll processing teams with tax issues.
- Provides assistance with payroll tax reconciliation and reporting.
- Ensures accurate and timely payroll tax reporting and payments to all tax agencies for both in-house and third-party payroll tax vendors.
- Process optimization for a large and diverse multi-state payroll operation
- Analyzes, resolves, and explains technical payroll-related questions that necessitate payroll system knowledge.
- As needed for issue resolution and/or reporting, prepares complex data for multiple sources.
- Controls payroll data and responds to employee and management inquiries over the phone.
- Compiles information, conducts research, and contacts tax agencies in connection with payroll tax audits and tax agency notices.
Requirements:
Education and prior job experience are required as minimum qualifications.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience/training.
- 3 years of multi-state reporting experience in a large-scale payroll processing environment Preferred Qualifications

- 3 years of multi-state reporting experience in a large-scale payroll processing environment Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
- Experience with system design and implementation is required, as is the ability to read and comprehend multiple labor agreements.
- Exhibit exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to work well under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with little supervision
