We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing the security of our systems and services. In this position, you will focus on identifying and prioritizing security issues that can be addressed through automation. Your responsibilities will include developing detection prototypes, collaborating with service teams to address security issues, and providing security guidance for AWS services.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and prioritize security issues that can be detected through automation.
• Develop detection prototypes to enhance our security toolset for various analysis methods.
• Collaborate with builders and service teams to address identified security issues in a timely manner.
• Identify opportunities to proactively prevent security issues at scale.
• Document and provide security guidance that will be applied across AWS services.
• Measure and communicate the effectiveness of our security initiatives through metrics.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in areas such as mobile security, threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, cryptography, system administration, or network security.
• Knowledge of security engineering, system and network security, authentication protocols, cryptography, or application security.
• Understanding of network and web protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols).
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in managing and implementing security solutions at scale.
• Familiarity with AWS or similar enterprise cloud computing platforms.
• Knowledge of Linux systems and operating system internals.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other security engineers and developers on complex projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
