Position Description

TNTP – The New Teacher Project is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Academic Diagnostic Instructional Reviewer who can work from September 2023 to June 2024 with a possibility of renewal for the following year. The ideal candidate should have prior teaching experience, strong writing skills, and a deep understanding of college and career-ready standards. The role will entail reviewing assignments and the quality of student work samples along with classroom instructions objectively to support TNTP staff and external partners with accurate information on their students’ academic experiences. This part-time position is temporary, remote, and consists of up to 12 hours of training over two weeks in the fall with ongoing norming calls no more than once a month. The candidate should be willing to travel occasionally to school sites as needed.

Responsibilities

The candidate will have the following responsibilities:

– Participating in 12 hours of initial training.
– Becoming a TNTP certified reviewer and participate in ongoing norming calls.
– Implementing all the assigned tools accordingly.
– Analyzing assignments and focus group notes within the given deadlines.
– Uploading ratings in TNTP’s online tool.
– Traveling occasionally to support diagnostics at school sites.
– Staying informed about curriculum options in designated content areas and general strengths and weaknesses.

Qualifications

The candidate should have the following qualifications:

– Deep knowledge and experience working with College and Career Ready Standards.
– Prior experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, content area lead, or curriculum writer/reviewer.
– Strong writing skills, including the ability to provide clear and coherent evidence and rationale to support ratings.
– Attention to detail and willingness to follow a systematic, objective process when reviewing resources.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Availability to work remotely and travel occasionally.
– Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure.
