Position Description

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and competent Remote Director of Accounting. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for the financial system design and implementation, ensuring the completion of complex accounting activities, and communicating financial results to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance for financial system design and implementation
• Ensure the completion of complex accounting activities
• Communicate financial results and other information to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Oversee and maintain staff performance guidelines
• Identify business objectives, analyze resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporate them into business plans
• Support financial transactions by reviewing and approving complex accounting activities
• Coordinate external reporting of financial information by reviewing and distributing reports
• Support financial analyses by reviewing operational statistics to pursue efficiencies and quality financial outcomes
• Lead finance system design, implementations, enhancements, and continuous improvements
• Monitor Company financial information and complete, review, and interpret standard and/or ad hoc reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, volume reporting, trade spending reports)
• Meet requirements of policies and procedures to remain compliant
• Support internal and external audits by managing the relationship with auditors and implementing findings if applicable

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years accounting or related business experience
• Minimum four (4) years in a supervisory capacity
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• Three (3) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above)
• Four (4) years experience in technical accounting, requiring the interpretation of accounting guidelines and documenting recommendations for accounting practices
• Four (4) years experience in financial reporting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred
