What you intend to do

  • Handles the overall corporate emergency response plan for the company.
  • Collaborates with divisions across American Airlines to create and deliver high-quality emergency response plans, all while preserving corporate consistency and ensuring necessary processes and procedures are in place to support the plan.
  • Participates in corporate, departmental, station, and partner carrier emergency drills.
  • Collaborates with departments across American Airlines to ensure that departments and stations are ready to respond to an emergency.
  • Participates in emergency exercises such as company, regional partner, and manifest drills. Attend industry task force and working group meetings and events such as IATA, A4A, OneWorld, NTSB, and vendor events.
  • Help the Business Units in conducting analysis to document the operational consequences of events/disruptions and developing recommendations on how to reduce the risk and impact of these events. Common assessments may include identifying essential business process interdependencies, defining dependency on technology and vendors, and determining financial consequences.
  • Help Business Units in developing business restart plans.
  • Support Business Units with training and awareness seminars, outage simulation exercises, and lesson learning summaries.
  • Create/update documentation to support the Business Continuity Management technique.

Everything you’ll need to succeed

  • BA/BS degree or similar work experience/training in relevant field
  • 2 years of experience in project management
