A picture editor is needed for the Disney Entertainment Television Photography Department in New York. Each week, hundreds of assets must be ingested, edited, captioned, distributed, and archived for use by different dayparts under the Disney Entertainment Television banner. Good Morning America, GMA3, Live with Kelly and Mark, The View, Tamron Hall, as well as several ABC News programs and Disney Corporate events both on-campus and remotely, are among the shows that our team supports. As part of our ongoing effort to digitize millions of assets, the editor will also take part in a range of film editing, organizing, and database tasks relating to the ABC Photo Archives.
Responsibilities:
- Images for a number of DGE titles based in New York, including ABC News, Disney Advertising, and DGE Entertainment, as well as for numerous events and Disney Corporate Initiatives, will be edited in this capacity.
- Add captions and metadata to photos so that they can be accessed through our DGE press portal and internal database.
- Photo requests, library entries, and research initiatives
- Support the management and upkeep of our internal database and archiving systems. These obligations include moving, renaming, adding metadata, scanning, and uploading both recent and historical images.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience in media, visual communications, or a related subject
- At least three years’ worth of expertise in digital photo editing and captioning, preferably in the media.
- Excellent talents in annotating and manipulating digital photos
- Knowledge of and proficiency with all Adobe Creative Cloud Suite applications, particularly Photoshop, Lightroom, In Design, etc.
- Strong experience with Capture One and Photo Mechanic
- Basic knowledge of how cloud storage works
- Ability to edit 35 mm slides, negatives, and chromes is a bonus.
- Skills in color correction, retouching, and having a careful, focused eye
- Extremely responsible and meticulous
- Able to handle pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to prioritize tasks and multitask during a tough workday
- Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work easily and comfortably with a variety of photographers and media professionals
- A passion for the visual arts and photography
In New York, NY, salaries for this occupation range from $75,200 to $103,400 annually. Internal equity will be taken into consideration when determining the basic pay that is actually offered, and it may also change based on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, abilities, and experience, among other things. Depending on the level and job offered, the remuneration package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units in addition to the complete range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
