Position Description

BODi is a health and wellness company whose goal is to build the Health Esteem Category. The Senior Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day payroll operations for the company. This person will ensure payroll processes align with state and federal requirements, oversee payroll tax functions, analyze payroll data to identify inefficiencies and enhancements, and ensure accurate and timely response to payroll-related questions. The Payroll Manager will also mentor and develop team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll activities, including processing of US and UK payroll

• Ensure payroll processes align with state and federal requirements

• Document Payroll SOX controls

• Analyze payroll data to identify trends or risks and make recommendations

• Ensure accurate and timely response to withholding orders notifications, tax agency notices and other requests

• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the payroll function

• Identify process inefficiencies and propose enhancement, striving for continuous improvement

• Own month-end processes including review and approval of journal entries and payroll accounts reconciliation

• Participate in payroll system enhancements

• Collaborate with Finance, Tax and People teams, provide information as needed

• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to internal and external auditors

• Mentor and develop team members

Qualifications

• Payroll Certification (CPP) preferred

• In-depth knowledge of payroll taxes, payroll accounting, and payroll regulations

• Experience with California and multi-state payroll

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail

• Ability to handle numerous priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency with MS Excel

Experience:

• Workday Payroll experience is required

• At least 5 years of experience in payroll management

• ADP Smart Compliance experience a plus

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
