Responsibilities:

  • Apply your critical thinking. For requests to assess the medical necessity of treatments that do not fulfill utilization review requirements, promptly provide a medical expert review. In compliance with appeal policies and, if so delegated, relevant medical experience and our evidence-based standards, review appeals for refused services.
  • Put the team first. Collaborate with more than 500 eviCore physician peers to guarantee that patients receive the best treatment possible through the use of evidence-based decision-making. To clarify clinical facts and to explain review outcome judgments, offer prompt peer-to-peer talks with referring physicians.
  • Create new relationships with your peers while using our policies and processes to gain new knowledge. Although you won’t be working alone, you’ll start with remote instruction. Requirements:

  • A board-certified neurosurgeon who holds a current, valid, state-issued medical license in the United States and is a member of either the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). (AOA)
  • Possess at least 5 years of relevant clinical experience (after fellowship or residency).
  • Understanding of relevant state and federal laws. Standards from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) are advantageous.
  • The capacity to adhere to a regular, weekly schedule of labor (Monday through Friday)
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to work independently with computer applications and systems are necessary.
