Company: Amazon
Amazon is guided by four principles: putting the customer first instead of the competition, being passionate about coming up with new ideas, being committed to operational excellence, and thinking about the long term. Amazon wants to be the company with the best customer service, the best place to work, and the safest place to work on Earth. Amazon’s business with devices is one of the most innovative and fastest-growing. Every day, we come up with new ideas for our customers, partners, and communities.
As a member of the Offline Marketing and Sales team, you will help with a wide range of products and services, such as Echo, Ring, Amazon Smart Fire TV & Streaming Media Players, Fire Tablets, Kindle eReaders, Blink, eero, and more. We get ideas from our customers, and they have always been at the center of how we come up with new products, services, displays, customer experiences, and more. You will be the face of Amazon for both staff and customers in offline retail accounts. As a team, we try to give customers the best experience possible.
As a Market Manager, you’ll be in charge of a territory of brick-and-mortar stores and be in charge of the Amazon experience and merchandising in those stores. You are the Amazon expert, and project deliverables depend a lot on your ability to persuade without being in charge. You will run and manage in-store product changes and retailer communications, as well as gather information about the market. You will teach sales associates and support staff about Amazon Devices & Services. This will improve the customer experience and indirectly affect sales and advocacy metrics for your territory. You might be asked to spend the night away from home to visit stores in nearby markets or attend team meetings (conferences, trainings, team building events, etc.)
Market Managers need to be able to work 40 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Use your business sense and ability to think critically to spot trends, find the root causes of problems, and solve them in store operations across your market.
- Collect business and market information from customers and store employees to help you make decisions about products, features, and channels.
- Manage weekly travel to a large territory of retailers using a variety of sales tools and store profiles to affect sales and brand advocacy.
- Develop professional relationships with important people both inside and outside the company, such as Area Managers, Regional Managers, General Managers, etc.
- Increase sales through the offline retail channel by focusing on KPIs.
- Get the business goals done (advocacy, compliance, metrics, trainings, coverage, team, org).
- Do daily reports in the store to keep track of visits, including sending digital photos.
- Install, troubleshoot, and take care of a variety of Amazon, Ring, Blink, and eero display devices and fixtures in national retail stores.
- Delegate tasks and use your influence to get great results in your market, such as following standard operating procedures, finding places to improve, putting solutions in place, and giving store managers, regional leaders, and corporate stakeholders regular feedback.
- Create, simplify, and share the best ways to do things.
- Manage product changes in stores and communications with retailers
- Make sure that the Amazon in-store experience and merchandising are properly set up and kept up by retailers in your direct team and area, according to the standards of execution provided.
- In small and large groups, teach store employees about the value of Amazon, Ring, Blink, and eero devices and services.
- Do sales and training at large events based on the needs of the program and market.
- Provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely verbal and written communication to the right internal and external stakeholders with national impact.
- Take care of travel and work costs
What a day is like
Market managers rely heavily on influence without authority to drive project deliverables, improve brand advocacy, and improve the customer experience in retail stores. At the market and district level, they build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. They are the experts on Amazon, Ring, eero, and Blink products and services. They run group training sessions for sales staff to teach them how to sell Amazon’s wide range of devices and services. Market Managers work closely with retail partners and customers to find out what they want and how they use products and services. This helps them improve products and services and make decisions at the corporate level. They make sure that all Amazon, Ring, eero, and Blink devices and services have the same in-store experience and merchandising in all stores.
