Responsibilities:

You will do the following as a sourcing manager for the soft home/bedding industry:

• To transform ideas into the products that are on the shelves of our stores and in our online channels, collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes Target Merchants, Planners, Inventory Management, Product Design, Packaging, and our Global Sourcing team.
• Be in charge of working with the internal CFT and vendors to provide our visitors with high-quality, trend-appropriate items at a fantastic value.
• Participate from the very beginning of product development to choose the operational model and matrix that will meet the objectives of the brand, the merchant, and the product development
• To support global balance, matrix optimization, and to assist Target in achieving our financial goals, develop and oversee a sourcing strategy.
• Choose which manufacturers Target partners with and oversee these international alliances to achieve your sourcing goals and objectives.
• Contribute to the creation of goods that benefit people and the environment by fusing our ability to source with our preference for quality and social responsibility.
• Use your knowledge to encourage and implement ethical sourcing procedures while fostering the development of Target owned brands.
• Cooperate closely with cross-functional partners and teams to make that supplier actions adhere to ethical standards.
• Develop effective negotiation strategies in collaboration with international partners while assessing business levers to offer holistic value and reach financial targets and profitability.
• Monitor the status of the product at each stage of the development and production process.
• Maintain regular communication with our Target team members working out of sourcing offices in 20 different nations, and assist them in supporting their role as international partners, product developers, and merchants’ liaisons.

Requirements:

• Four-year degree or experience equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant merchandising or sourcing experience
• Adaptable; able to deal with ambiguity and quickly changing business priorities
• Willingness to experiment with innovative working methods as we modernize our owned brand development strategy
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of people globally and inside the firm to achieve business results
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, particularly the ability to analyze critically and strategically
• Good communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
• Excellent financial judgment
• Talents in analysis, data/reporting, or production planning
• the capacity to build and customize connections with a broad vendor matrix spanning from transactional to strategic
• The capacity to collaborate, persuade, and prioritize a large number of partners and stakeholders
• Being able to travel as needed both domestically and abroad
