Are you a driven leader looking for a new challenge? To lead and assist the Corporate Data Center Engineering team at Splunk, the company is seeking a diligent manager. In order to enable Splunkers, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining an amazing worldwide infrastructure.

In order to design, develop, and oversee a globally accessible infrastructure, you will collaborate with internal teams and serve as a mentor to them. All the while, you will be monitoring capacity, performance, and service availability. You will create instruments and procedures that lower overhead through automation, optimizing features and stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a group of SRE, Automation, and Storage Engineers to complete tasks and provide services that are utilized by Splunk teams across the entire company.
  • Maintain complete control over the performance and availability of vital services, and develop automation to cut down on overhead.
  • Establish objectives for your group and build your reputation for providing high-quality services.
  • Manage the on-call schedule and help with incident classification.
  • To increase Splunk’s data center services’ availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency, design, document, and provide the necessary infrastructure and services.
  • Set up and oversee essential metrics to ensure SLAs are satisfied. Collaborate with your partners to prioritize and deliver business solutions that have an impact.

Requirements:

  • Ten years of total work experience
  • Show that you can function well in a DevOps or data center team.
  • two years of engineering manager experience
  • extensive technical background in operating systems (Linux and Windows), patch management, network fundamentals, data center management (VMware, SAN/NAS storage), configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform), and scripting languages (shell, python).
  • A plus is having familiarity with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • familiarity with putting standards and frameworks (CCF, NIST, ISO27001) into practice
  • expertise managing mixed-skill teams (systems and software)
  • knowledge of maintaining globally accessible services
  • A remarkable focus on the needs of the consumer and outstanding communication abilities
  • strong grasp of the AGILE/SCRUM process
  • Ability to work well together to achieve goals and objectives with colleagues, personnel, and people inside and outside the business
  • Preferred expertise and background: These are a major plus.
  • prior expertise in systems architecture and software development
  • You consistently mentor team members and possess strong people management and leadership abilities.
  • Having obtained Splunk Agile certifications

Learning:

  • A bachelor’s degree, ideally in management information systems or computer science, or an equivalent number of years of experience in the field.
