Position Description:
With annual company revenues ranging from $10M to $300M, the Field Sales Manager works within a specific geographic zone and expands the client base through face-to-face encounters with new prospect customers. The perfect applicant collaborates with senior executives to close deals and secure new business. The Field Sales Manager is knowledgeable about the American Express business suite of products, and they are able to create creative business solutions that continue to add value to new clients.
Occupational Duties:
- 30–40% of the time is spent prospecting.
- To augment commercial acquisition of product sales possibilities, use a variety of contact techniques, such as cold calling or in-person meetings, to gain lucrative sales using firm-provided leads and contact lists and self-generated leads (e.g., tradeshows).
- All prospecting must be conducted honestly and in accordance with our values, with a focus on providing solutions that are profitable and appropriate for the needs of potential clients.
- 10–20% of the time is spent managing pipelines.
- Successfully manage an American Express-provided pipeline of potential clients and self-prospect in the assigned territory (Corporate and Business prospects with revenue between $10M and $300M).
- Convert leads into prospects (contacts who are familiar with you and are eager to learn about possible opportunities), follow up with contacts in your CRM database, and ask prospects about potential opportunities.
- Customer solution (10–20%)
- Recognize client needs and jointly build solutions in response to their demands; invite customers to meet with product specialists; and continue communications to identify potential improvement areas.
- Retain a thorough understanding of American Express’s offerings, procedures (Underwriting, Line Increase, Client Financials, Pricing, Contract), important internal partners (Risk, UWA, PPI), and tools (ONE.force, C360)
- Close deals and negotiate (10–20%)
- Persuade the prospect to agree to and forward with the next stage of the acquisition cycle (such as underwriting) in compliance with all necessary disclosures, terms, and conditions.
- Reiterate the terms of the transaction, obtain the required signatures, and successfully shift the customer to Field Account Development after the contract is closed in order to cultivate, evaluate, and grow the relationship and volume.
