To head our site-based maintenance team as the Sr. Maintenance Manager (Sr. MM), we are looking for a motivated, organized self-starter. A maintenance manager, area maintenance managers, and maintenance technicians who answer to the regional maintenance manager make up the team. Leading a sizable maintenance staff that maximizes equipment uptime, carries out equipment repair, and manages projects in a hectic, dynamic work environment are the major duties.
The chosen applicant will have extensive experience in the fields of maintenance, workplace security, and data-driven leadership and management. Experience with packaging automation, distribution operations, storage systems, and material handling equipment systems and applications is a plus. The applicant must be a self-starter with the capacity to manage numerous complicated projects and activities concurrently as well as the ability to interact with and influence people at all organizational levels. The applicant must be able to supervise the maintenance acceptance of a substantial and intricate project. A maintenance team of at least 80 individuals will need technical leadership and guidance from this person, who also needs to be skilled at doing so.
Responsibilities:
- In Amazon’s North American Fulfillment Network, act as a leader, mentor, and manager of the site-based and area maintenance managers.
- Create business plans for the Maintenance Department and offer direction and support for their effective execution.
- Create and put into action reliability plans that will help the facility run more frequently.
- Driving upkeep exemplary practices Improve procedures and the experience of Amazon customers through innovating, documenting, improving work techniques, standardizing, providing a safe work environment and requiring safe work practices, training, commissioning equipment, collecting, measuring, and analyzing key performance indicators.
- Using ROI and other analytical approaches, provide senior leadership with advice on maintenance and equipment end-of-life (EOL) issues.
- Control the creation, implementation, and capital planning of the budget.
- Utilize Amazon’s extensive network to maximize economies of scale, and assist in managing vendor relationships for both equipment and service.
- Provide oversight, auditing, and enforcement of safe work practices, maintenance execution, and the implementation and oversight of training drills across the network.
- Use the full maintenance crew to your network’s advantage in North America.
- Create and maintain contract and budget documentation, such as RFPs, purchase orders, change order policies, and invoices.
- Give the general managers of fulfillment centers access to information on how maintenance is being conducted at those facilities.
- For the positions of Maintenance Managers and Maintenance Area Managers, recruit, interview, and hire bar-raising talent.

Requirements:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- A BS in mechanical or industrial engineering or a closely related field, a BS/BA with 4+ years of maintenance experience, or a BS/BA with 2+ years of Amazon experience.
- Prior experience managing change and maintenance teams across several sites in corporate and/or regional Maintenance roles that included 80 or more salaried personnel.
- 7+ years of experience supervising employees’ work.

- Strong statistical analysis abilities and experience maintaining big, intricate integrated systems and material handling equipment.
- Solid familiarity and expertise working with the main MHE integrators.
- Exposure to TOC, layout design, cost-benefit analyses, labor productivity analyses (time studies, standardized work), and safety, ergonomic, and human aspects.
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Project, SQL, AutoCAD, and MS Excel.
- A plus are a Six Sigma Black Belt certification and/or an MBA or other Master’s degree.
- A plus would be professional engineering registration.
