To help keep Amazon secure for its customers, the expanding Penetration Testing team at Amazon is looking for a Penetration Testing Manager. You will be in charge of managing a group of expert penetration testers who will evaluate Amazon’s services, programs, and websites in this position. You will have face-to-face interactions with teams from a range of industry sectors, giving you first-hand experience of how Amazon is designed and functions at a highly technical level. Additionally, you will use what you learn about Amazon to come up with fresh ideas for enhancing services, procedures, and technological advancements across the entire organization, with the ultimate objective of maintaining the security and safety of our clients.
You will be concentrated on using your technical and leadership abilities to coordinate penetration testing engagements and continuously drive the team’s evolution and direction in order to uphold and raise Amazon’s stringent security standards. You’ll also be in charge of leading strategic initiatives from your team by influencing important decision-makers and working together with teams throughout Amazon to facilitate the deployment of cutting-edge security solutions and controls to strengthen Amazon’s security and software development posture. You’ll have the support of a group of highly trained security engineers who will be assaulting Amazon from a variety of angles with the sole goal of keeping our customers’ trust. Additionally, you must show fortitude and handle confusing circumstances with poise and tact. To focus on the ultimate objective of keeping Amazon and its Customers secure, a strong sense of customer obsession is required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, oversee, and grow a technical penetration testing team that is dispersed across several sites.
- Lead the Penetration Testing Team’s strategic direction and development, including goal-setting and assigning priorities.
- Influence leadership, important stakeholders, and teams across Amazon to advance strategic priorities.
- Oversee efficient cooperation, dedication, and teamwork between several diverse groups with conflicting goals.
- Lead program and process improvements internally
- Create and distribute materials of the highest quality to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership position in technical security (people manager)
- 5+ years of experience in information security-related fields; knowledge of security basics; ability to find and fix application vulnerabilities; and proficiency with penetration testing techniques and tools
- Having three or more years’ experience spearheading information security efforts inside big, varied companies
- Experience engaging with a variety of technical and non-technical partners as well as senior leadership for at least three years
FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of managing teams in several places
- Ability to use good judgment, solve problems, and come to judgments even in the presence of uncertainty and limited information
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Sharp analytical skills and meticulousness
- Ability to take initiative, inspire oneself, and produce results in very confusing situations Ability to manage several conflicting priorities in a quick-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of implementing remediation/mitigation strategies for security flaws and control gaps
- Experience collecting and reporting metrics to gauge the efficacy and consistency of services and programs
- Technical understanding of the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of the opposition
- Knowledge of cloud service providers and what they have to offer, preferably AWS and its many technologies and services
- With experience guiding engineers and architectures to deliver results and knowledge of system or security design methodologies, a BA/BS in computer science or a closely connected discipline
