A Global Export Compliance Program Manager is required by Amazon to develop and maintain our inventory- and retail-based export control program for Canada. This position will assist the inventory/retail export classification and physical exports program for Canada as part of the Global Export Compliance team and carry out policies, procedures, and solutions. You will conduct yourself as a leader who has a solid track record of delivery, the ability to set priorities, and clear communication. You are able to manage several competing priorities in a hectic setting while collaborating with several stakeholders to grow and expand the program in this part of the world. To accomplish the objectives of your program, you might contribute to the development of solutions.
By collaborating with internal business units, the successful candidate will support the export classification program and other strategic initiatives. They will also be an innovative compliance leader with experience delving deeply into complex issues and developing specifications for new compliance solutions. The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for taking on new challenges, excellent subject matter expertise, creativity, self-direction, and teamwork skills. Applicants should push for ongoing process improvement and work well with multidisciplinary teams. Strong analytical abilities and a comfort with working independently in a situation that is frequently uncertain are requirements for the position. An individual with excellent organizational abilities and keen attention to detail is required for the position.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain export classification rule writing processes and audit program that support Amazon’s Canada export program
• Drive innovative solution requirements to further enhance and automate compliance
• Apply high judgment and export classification subject matter expertise on Canada and US export control regulations, including the Canadian Export Control List and other export requirements. own leadership messages to the teams of stakeholders
Requirements:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Required qualifications include: a bachelor’s degree; familiarity with US and Canadian export control laws, particularly the EAR; five or more years of experience in export compliance involving the application and interpretation of export control laws; and four or more years of experience in export classification.

Strong project management expertise; strong written and oral communication skills; track record of taking responsibility and achieving results; demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects and programs; prioritization, planning, and task delegation; strong attention to detail; and the capacity for self-starting and self-motivation

Our pay is in line with the cost of labor in different US regions. In our lowest geographic area, the basic salary for this position is $59,300 per year, while in our top geographic market, it is $142,800 per year. Compensation is based on a number of variables, including market location, and may change in accordance with knowledge, abilities, and experience pertinent to the position.
