In order to offer our adult GI patients GI-focused psychological services (such as CBT and psychodynamic therapy), we are looking for a Masters Level Licensed Behavioral Health Therapist. You will have access to ongoing training and support as a core member of the clinical team from a GI-focused clinical team (GI/MD, GI-experienced Nurse Practitioners, Registered Dietitian, Health Coaches) to help you implement GI focused psychological services and gain a working knowledge of digestive health conditions (IBD, IBS, GERD, SIBO, etc.). The services that other members of the care team deliver will be enhanced by your contribution. After one or more years of service, the remote, part-time employment will have the potential to grow into more management responsibilities. Although not required, prior expertise in the field(s) of GI psychology and/or health psychology in general is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Work together with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in a digital healthcare setting, such as physicians, health coaches, and dietitians, to offer a thorough and well-coordinated approach to member care.
- Improve the members’ emotional and mental wellness by using evidence-based clinical interventions (such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and gut-directed hypnosis) to help them reach the objectives of their GI care plan.
- Conduct biopsychosocial examinations in order to create and carry out specific, measurable goals that assist clients in reaching important outcomes associated with their gastrointestinal condition(s).
- Create and preserve health records and interactions in electronic health records while adhering to the rules specified in the clinical protocols of the organization and other relevant handbooks.
- Engage in professional development programs to keep your license current and expand your expertise.
- Attend clinical coordination meetings with other members of the care team.
- Help the organization as a whole create psychological best practices and feedback so that you can impart your professional knowledge to other team members and enhance member experiences.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related profession.
- In good standing and currently licensed to practice therapy (Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LPCC). Multistate certification is highly regarded. (PA licensure desired, however those wanting to achieve PA licensure may apply from other states)
- Two or more years of relevant experience providing CBT, MI, and psychodynamic therapy (preferable if you have experience with biofeedback and hypnotherapy; familiarity with GI-focused psychology and/or health psychology is a bonus)
- Capacity to collaborate and interact with other healthcare professionals (such as an MD, a health coach, or a registered dietitian)
- Experience delivering on telehealth platforms is preferred, as well as comfort and competence with standard administration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Office, Google Drive, or equivalent), electronic charting, and
