Position Description

IXL Learning, an edtech company, is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Language Arts Content Editor to join their team remotely. The hired candidate will be working with a team of writers and curriculum designers to create content in reading comprehension and writer’s craft activities for grade levels PK-12.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with curriculum designers and delivering timely and professional feedback to content writers.
• Reviewing content to ensure accuracy, cohesion, organization, and consistency with project-specific guidelines and sample items, and meeting the Chicago Manual of Style and an in-house style guide requirement.
• Ensuring all content is informative, engaging, and grade-level appropriate.
• Contributing to a positive team dynamic and ensuring timely project completion.

Qualifications

• Possession of a bachelor’s/undergraduate degree in English, creative writing, or a related field.
• Sound knowledge of English grammar and conventions.
• Previous experience in editing professional and academic content.
• Great attention to detail and experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with online content management and communication systems.
• Knowledge of students’ understanding and ability levels in grades K-12.

The IXL Learning team is looking for a candidate who can commit to a full-time, three-month freelance job, with the possibility of an extension. The pay rate for this position is $38 to $50 per hour, tailored to each candidate’s years of experience.
