Position Description

Misfits Market is a high-growth startup with a mission to create an affordable online grocery store to make high-quality food more accessible to more people. The company is looking for an experienced and passionate Graphic Designer with strong conceptual thinking, typography, and illustration skills to be part of their team. The Graphic Designer will create social content, marketing emails, printed materials, and other acquisition assets, and will support internal communication materials. In addition, the Graphic Designer will collaborate with product designers to develop brand elements for the website and app and contribute to photo shoots and product styling. This is a Full-Time Remote job that requires a BFA in Design, Photography, or Fine Arts and 3-5 years of experience in an agency or design-centric consumer brand. Strong Adobe and Figma skills are a must, along with a good understanding of the constraints and capabilities of web technologies. The successful candidate must be able to think and execute creatively and have a high level of fidelity.

Responsibilities

– Develop and execute social content, marketing emails, printed materials, and acquisition assets.
– Support internal communication materials.
– Collaborate with product designers to develop brand elements for the website and app.
– Assist in photo shoots and product styling.
– Retouch brand photography.

Qualifications

– A Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Design, Photography, or Fine Arts.
– 3-5 years of experience at an agency or design-centric consumer brand.
– Expert knowledge of typography and grid systems.
– Experience designing for social and online branding.
– Good understanding of the constraints and capabilities of web technologies.
– Online portfolio that features a strong mix of branding, typographic, and self-initiated work.
– Strong Adobe and Figma skills.
– Strong photo-retouching skills.
– Strong Illustration skills.
– Nice to have: experience with Adobe After Effects and motion graphics.
