Position Description
AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a diligent and highly-organized Fronting Solutions Underwriting Manager to work in conjunction with the Commercial Lines and Workers’ Compensation Program business of our company. The ideal candidate is responsible for overseeing underwriting activities, compliance, regulations, and developmental aspects of a new venture at the company.
Responsibilities
The Fronting Solutions Underwriting Manager will be responsible for the following:
– Evaluate program opportunities and provide analyses regarding risk acceptability and compliance.
– Analyze prospective program coverages, rates, and filings and make recommendations as to adequacy.
– Assist in preparing and reviewing the product filings for programs.
– Ensure that all underwriting concerns for each program are promptly addressed by supervisory personnel and management.
– Create and uphold an underwriting audit review process to ensure compliance with program requirements, regulatory guidelines, and filings.
– Monitor program performance and provide detailed feedback.
– Aid in the creation of management and operational reports on underwriting processes.
Qualifications
– The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
– They should have 7+ years of experience underwriting commercial property and casualty risks.
– Knowledge and exposure to Excess & Surplus lines is highly recommended.
– Must have a broad understanding of commercial products and regulatory filing requirements.
– They should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be detail-oriented.
– Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex regulatory filings, contracts, reports, and state regulations.
– They should have excellent time management, organizational skills, and experience working independently or within a group to achieve goals.
– The candidate should have a decisive and collaborative style that matches the culture of the company and the speed of change.
– Strong skills in planning, organization, and development are essential for success in this role.
– Ability to make sound decisions based on data and risk assessments and the power to have a positive impact on the long-term success of the company is critical.
– Experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry with increasing responsibility as well as the ability to supervise a team effectively.
