Job Description:
The Finance Support Manager for The Nature Conservancy’s Finance Resource Center is responsible for providing process leadership and analytic support to The Nature Conservancy’s project teams, primarily in relation to Finance business processes. The Finance Resource Center (FRC) is committed to providing Conservancy staff and trustees with the tools, information, and training they need to interpret and utilize our financial resources in support of our global conservation mission. Additionally, the Finance Support Manager is accountable for developing written and verbal communications regarding Finance business processes and responding to requests for technical accounting and analysis expertise. They will work in all areas of finance and collaborate with other members of the FRC to provide TNC finance staff with tools, resources, communication, and support based on TNC policies and procedures.
The Finance Support Manager will work towards achieving strategic objectives by creating communications and support programs that increase the Finance expertise of TNC staff. They will lead discussions aimed at integrating new global Finance personnel into pertinent processes. They will serve as the point of contact for particular Finance procedures, including, but not limited to, Revenue, Land, and Fixed Assets.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the achievement of the program’s strategic objectives by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans, completing and/or supervising day-to-day tasks.
- Manages and executes numerous projects.
- Ensures the organization-wide collaboration and integration of programmatic work.
- Provides leadership with activity updates.
- Manage accountability for functional area-related strategic objectives.
- Exercise independent judgment in identifying and resolving complex problems; work is reviewed through consultation and consensus with others as opposed to superior directives.
- Display discretion when handling confidential information.
- Decisions may have program-wide repercussions and may financially or legally bind the organization.
- Design and manage multiple projects, including budget management, deadline setting, and accountability.
- Design and plan new initiatives to ensure the achievement of departmental and enterprise-wide objectives and strategies.
- Minimize the Conservancy’s legal exposure and ensure legal compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with programmatic commitments, Conservancy policies and procedures, and financial standards.
- Assume a leadership position within interdepartmental teams in order to coordinate the work of peers.
- There is only occasional exposure to unpleasant elements and minimal physical exertion and/or strain in the workplace.
- Enhances the consistency of the organization’s policies and procedures and provides field-specific support.

WHAT YOU ARE BRINGING
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration plus five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading and executing multiple project implementations.
- Experience with GAAP
- Relevant technological expertise in the relevant field.
- Experience working with cross-organizational teams
- Experience with accounting principles, financial interpretation, and analysis procedures.
Qualifications:
- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated.
- Capability to work with others in a collaborative or advisory capacity.
- Knowledge of Revenue, Asset, and Year-End Close Procedures
- Experience with accounting and analysis techniques.
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to conceive and write creatively for various audiences.
- Expertise in assessing learning needs, collaborating with subject matter experts, and formulating solutions.
- Certified Public Accountant or certification equivalent.
