The Senior Datacenter Provisioning Engineer will play a critical role in the configuration and deployment of servers, network devices and equipment providing services to consumers across the globe. The ideal applicant will have prior provisioning experience and strong troubleshooting skills, to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. They will be responsible for developing and improving the company’s solutions to deliver industry-leading outcomes. Responsibilities

– Provision servers and network devices using GitHub, Ansible, Chef, and Fastly’s internal tool sets following documented standards and processes.
– Troubleshoot and resolve issues that occur during provisioning and service turn-up.
– Collaborate closely with internal operations and infrastructure teams, as well as external partners to support error-free rapid expansion.
– Develop and improve the standards and processes for provisioning new infrastructure.
– Aid in the development and iteration of tools and automation systems.
– Train and mentor the newcomers and coworkers if required.

Qualifications

Qualifications

– 5 years of prior experience in network devices and server provisioning, system administration, and/or site reliability engineering.
– Strong understanding of the internet and TCP/IP focused on the client/server dataflow.
– Strong knowledge of IP routing with a focus on BGP and a deep understanding of TCP/IP.
– Understanding of how CDNs work and their position in the global internet.
– Comfort in a Linux environment and strong knowledge of software/automation workflow tools like Git, Travis, Chef, Ansible, or comparable.
– Scripting ability in common languages like Bash, Python, etc.
– Ability to troubleshoot server, scripting, and network issues.

Preferred

Qualifications

– Prior experience with BGP.
– Prior experience with CDNs.
– Hands-on coding experience with Rust for building internal tools.

Salary range as mentioned above starts at $113,220 to $166,500 USD Annually based on the experience, skills, and qualifications of the candidate.
