Position Description

The Executive Director of Trade Brand Contracting will be responsible for spearheading the sourcing and contract negotiations for vaccines in the retail business segment, including MinuteClinic. They will also develop and execute the retail discount strategy for non-vaccine branded pharmaceutical products and collaborate with strategic manufacturer partners to identify and pursue new opportunities with CVS Health. This is a senior-level management position.

Responsibilities

– Develop and execute vaccine procurement vision and strategy for CVS Health
– Develop and execute retail branded pharmaceutical product discount strategy
– Ensure internal collaboration to execute vaccine and retail brand discount strategies
– Identify new partnership opportunities with manufacturers
– Achieve P&L budgets and targets
– Support positioning CVS as a market leader on pharmacy programs and services
– Utilize relationships and external data to generate product intelligence
– Back new product offerings to improve dispensing and increase lifetime value of a CVS patient
– Product innovation development
– Attend industry conferences and stay current with market dynamics, product pipelines, and competitor offerings

Qualifications

– 10+ years of retail pharmacy and/or pharmaceutical industry experience
– Knowledge of drug pricing policies, trends, and innovation in the pharmaceutical industry
– Experience in health plans or pharmacy with experience in drug spend and/or formulary strategies
– Experience in complex contract negotiations, managing multiple manufacturer relationships
– Deep understanding of finance and the ability to collaborate across the organization
– Ability to problem-solve, triage and prioritize issues that impact one or more project work streams
– Advanced presentation and facilitation skills with executive-level internal and external customers
– Ability to effectively collaborate across the organization with other departments
– Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias
– Bachelor’s degree required, Pharmacist by profession preferred
– COVID vaccine required
