Responsibilities:

You will be working at the interface between post-silicon power and performance tweaking and debugging and pre-silicon performance modeling as a SoC Performance & Power Engineer. You will work with others across the organization to integrate power projection, modeling of power-relevant features like DVFS and clock/power gating, and experimenting with dynamic HW+SW power/performance/thermal management policies—all of which are essential to every shipping product. You will also work to integrate use case capture (on silicon) and playback (in the model) into our C++ SoC performance models. Additionally, you will own the implementation, assessment, and tuning of key planned SoC features in the model as well as conduct high-impact investigations into future memory system features in the areas of on-chip interconnect fabrics, shared caches, and DRAM controllers.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in Python and at least one other scripting language, as well as C++.
• Solid knowledge of the foundations of computer architecture and how HW and SW interact in complicated systems.
• Knowledge of computer system performance modeling.
• Working well with professionals in architecture, design, post-silicon analysis, software, and other fields.
• B.S. and at least ten years’ experience in the field.

Knowledge & Experience

• B.S. and at least ten years’ experience in the field. EE, CS, or a related discipline master’s or PhD preferable.
