Responsibilities:

For the purpose of reporting to corporate-based reporting systems and onsite management teams, the WHSS must keep accurate daily, weekly, and monthly data. The WHSS assists management in making sure that all corporate program requirements are met as well as any relevant national and state legal requirements. Additionally, the WHSS does risk analyses associated with newly introduced equipment and occupations performed (Job Hazard Analysis). Furthermore, the WHSS is in charge of advising management on suitable risk mitigation strategies, such as ergonomics. Depending on availability, the candidate must be willing to work any shift. Among the duties include, but are not restricted to:

  • Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly metrics are correct and reported to corporate-based reporting systems and onsite management teams.
  • Assist management in making sure that all business program requirements and relevant federal and state laws are followed.
  • Carry out risk analyses for newly introduced equipment and jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis).
  • Charged for advising management on suitable risk mitigation strategies, such as ergonomics
  • Willing to work variable hours, such as weekends, nights, or days

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL EQUALITIES

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a subject linked to environmental health and safety (EHS) [b]OR;[/b] A bachelor’s degree with background in EHS related [b]OR;[/b] six months of experience working for Amazon in a safety-related capacity
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, particularly 29 CFR 1910
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for work-related purposes
  • Experience upholding confidentiality in matters pertaining to workplace security and/or personnel issues

DESIDERED SPECIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree or above, ideally in a discipline connected to safety
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, analytical, judging, and customer-focused capabilities
  • Proven track record of team leadership and management; – Capability to perform job hazard and job safety evaluations; – Ability to assess accident data, new procedures, and machinery for any safety issues
  • Demonstration of emergency response experience and possession of current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Work experience in managing workers’ compensation cases
