Summary of the Position:

• Advance Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools’ mission
• Record student attendance.
• Oversee and plan an early childhood classroom.
• Apply a preventive and constructive approach to discipline: redirection, positive boundary establishing, explicit expectations, praise and encouragement, offer options, let kids handle problems.
• Assure kids of a safe atmosphere and keep it that way.
• Include instruction in religion into activities.
• Keep pupils’ regular schedules and routines.
• Involve and watch over the kids during every activity.
• Never compromise on secrecy and privacy.
• Frequently clean toys and arrange equipment.
• Give the assistant or assistants direction such that the program benefits the pupils the most

Qualifications:

• Showcase Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools’ fundamental principles: Unity, Integrity, Excellence, and Faith
• Preferably an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood
• Desired backgrounds include early childhood teaching and/or child care.
• Having good people skills helps
• Adaptability need for mobility Excellent verbal abilities
