As a Remote Editor at Eleven, you will play a crucial role in editing content produced by a team of writers to ensure it meets client expectations and guidelines. This includes making direct edits and providing constructive feedback to writers through written or verbal communication. Our content primarily focuses on tech, business, finance, and marketing, including software/product reviews, comparisons, buying guides, how-to articles, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Edit articles to ensure relevance, clarity, coherence, technical correctness, readability, and adherence to style guidelines.
• Provide constructive feedback to writers via in-text comments, Slack messages, or video calls.
• Assess writer performance in the Writers Feedback Hub.
• Meet deadlines and weekly article output requirements.
• Conduct calls with writers when necessary for effective communication.
• Respond to Slack messages from writers and project managers.
• Stay updated on relevant Slack channels for notifications and updates.

Requirements:

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Native-level English proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or editing qualifications, with a minimum of 3+ years’ editing experience.
• 1+ years of editing experience in online publishing.
• Strong editing skills and a commitment to professional growth.
• Ability to follow style guidelines and client briefings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• SEO writing knowledge and/or experience.
• Familiarity with various online article formats and styles.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback to writers.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Initiative, proactivity, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Proficiency in collaboration software (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack).

Desired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher, or equivalent experience.
• Proofreading, copy-editing, or other editing qualifications.
• Knowledge of tech, finance, or business & marketing industries.
