Position Description
Sierra Club is seeking a Director of Digital Marketing to expand and integrate its campaigning, programming, and fundraising into a comprehensive digital subscriber experience. The ideal candidate must have experience with email messaging, CRM platforms, digital advertising, online fundraising, and list growth. They will lead a team and work in close partnership with the Communications department to create strategies to accomplish fundraising, organizing, and communication goals while nurturing and growing the subscriber lists.
Responsibilities
– Develop and oversee the Digital Marketing strategy including email messaging, CRM platform, SMS platform, digital advertising, online fundraising, and list growth.
– Plan, hire, and coordinate with various teams involved with mass texting, email systems, and digital supporter experience.
– Provide constructive feedback to develop compelling content that matches brand guidelines while maintaining quality standards and ethics.
– Work with Digital and Communications departments to ensure cross-platform strategies reflect quality content in real-time.
– Analyze audience segmentation and track important data-points to inform strategy while using insights to report out email and sms performance.
– Maintain effective techniques to connect with diverse audiences, tell emotionally compelling stories, and move people to action.
– Model effective equity analysis, justice, and equality throughout team/department policies and cultivate mentorship.
Qualifications
– Proven management experience of large teams and budgets ($1m+).
– Experience managing email and mass texting programs with a large subscriber base that involve email and mobile design, admission, etc.
– Excellent writing proficiency and expertise with digital ad strategy and CRM opt-in pathways and journeys.
– Ability to cultivate and maintain internal and external relationships to develop and expand digital programs.
– Expertise in CRM tools, advocacy, and organizing campaigns.
– Strong problem-solving abilities and modeling interpersonal communication, fostering team cultivation and mentorship to achieve common goals.
– Knowledgeable about current events and trends in the digital and technological landscapes and applying qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate success and improve goals.
