We are seeking an English content editor with the ability to produce engaging and helpful content for our users.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary tasks include selecting English language movies, captioning them, annotating words (definitions and sample sentences), making vocabulary flashcard sets, and developing English learning curricula.
  • Getting used to new software: Be prepared to pick up a range of platforms for task delegation and communication. Prior Asana and/or Slack experience is advantageous.
  • Cooperation: work with other editors to determine the most effective ways to offer services for language learning.
    How we operate: Our crew is entirely remote and distributed.
    We mostly use Asana for text-based communication, and our workplace is low-stress.
  • Additionally, our workspace is flat and collaborative.
  • We use reason and reasoning to make decisions. Clear communication is our top priority.
    We have the ability to give honest criticism.

Requirements:

  • A passion for language education: We are searching for someone who has a strong belief in the positive effects that language instruction may have on language learners.
  • Proficiency in the English language and language acquisition: you must possess a solid grasp of English grammar and its structures.
  • At least a year of experience in linguistics, English teaching, translation, or a related discipline; in order to produce material, you must be able to comprehend the viewpoint of English language learners. Comprehending the obstacles that students encounter and knowing how to mentor them are crucial aspects of the work.
  • Excellent editing abilities and meticulous attention to detail: the material you choose will make a lasting impression on our users, therefore precision and professionalism in the way you do your work are essential.
  • The capacity to collaborate remotely as a team: our group is spread out across the world. Working remotely may seem like a wonderful idea at first, but if you’ve never done it before, you’ll quickly discover that there are a lot of obstacles involved and that it’s not always the best option for everyone.
    Possessing a self-motivated and productive mindset: you must be able to complete tasks and prepared for a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Effective writing: The ability to communicate clearly and in an orderly manner is essential.
  • Stable commitment: the ability to work 15 to 20 hours a week consistently over an extended period of time.
