You will be an integral part of our Brand Marketing team at Apartment List, helping to develop and implement our organic social media strategy as a Content Creator (Social Media). You will handle our renter social channels (Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest), produce short-form video content, and assist with fostering relationships with outside creators and influencers. You will report to our senior brand marketing manager.

One of the few platforms that allows us to stay in touch with tenants during their whole lease is social media. You will help us elevate these platforms as our first-ever in-house content creator by producing really compelling content and developing a vibrant renter community. In close collaboration with important cross-functional teams, you will transform organic social media into a tactical business tool that increases renter demand and brand recognition. The perfect applicant is very imaginative, quick, and driven by themselves. They also have great communication skills and are a team member.

There is a chance to work more hours in the future for this part-time, contract role, which entails 25 hours per week. For this role, the desired salary range is between $40 and $50 per hour. Although this is predominantly a remote work role, Bay Area candidates will be given priority for opportunities to collaborate in person.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Produce amusing, trending videos that appeal to our audience on Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram.
  • Content Calendar & Platform Management: Create content calendars every month, write copy for posts, and plan content according to platform guidelines.
  • Influencer marketing is locating, establishing rapport with, and overseeing regular correspondence with content producers (both photo and video) who appeal to our target market.
  • Building Community: To strengthen our renter community, craft on-brand remarks and interact with other like-minded accounts and platforms. Don’t worry; any questions you have about our products or customer support will be answered by our Renter Success team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: To generate social-first content and support their numerous efforts, collaborate closely with internal teams in Design, Performance Marketing, PR, Content, Product, and Renter Success.

Requirements:

  • You have worked as a freelancer, for a B2C business, agency, or for at least two to three years managing social media and/or creating content.
  • You’ve used TikTok and Instagram B2C before. Pinterest experience is a benefit.
  • Your ability to create content is demonstrated in your portfolio.
  • You are an expert user of social media sites’ in-app editors and creators, as well as design and video apps like CapCut and Canva.
  • You are passionate about creating online communities and possess excellent narrative and communication skills both on and off camera.
  • You’re keen to demonstrate how organic social media is a strategic route for our larger brand strategy and have an eye for good creativity and overall aesthetics.
  • You possess expertise in utilizing project management software such as Asana and are able to efficiently optimize several processes.
  • You keep up with the newest trends and have a thorough understanding of online culture. You don’t hesitate to seize a branding chance or make an unconventional pitch.
