Responsibilities:
- You will place a strong emphasis on ensuring that all services are highly available and scalable using both Open Sourced and vendor provided technologies thanks to your fundamental understanding of Linux, clustering, and networking.
- Develop your expertise in two or more of the following fields: Elastic, Cassandra, Redis, Kafka Spark, GridGain, and similar public cloud services
- To support our customers’ use of cloud services, develop a solid understanding of cloud principles and container-based technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Redhat OpenShift.
- Create Terraform scripts to automate the installation and configuration of different managed services offering resources and their components in both public and private cloud environments.
- Splunk, Prometheus, and ELK should all be integrated with observability tools.
- Create scripts utilizing Python, YAML/JSON for configuration, and Linux scripting.
- Combine your knowledge with your ability to do thorough, logical root cause analyses to identify possibilities to create things more quickly and effectively.
- Support our operational support teams with engineering-advanced support when necessary, including fixing performance issues in virtualized and containerized systems.
Requirements:
- Having a total of 5+ years of relevant expertise in technology and 2–3 years of relevant engineering experience
- Shown experience managing a large-scale IT production operation, encompassing infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, and security) and the deployment of highly available applications (distributed, middleware, and databases across all tiers).
- Working knowledge of leading an agile team to produce work products quickly and continuously
- Understanding of public cloud managed services in AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Strong system administration and Linux functionalities/features experience
- Demonstrated practical experience with disaster recovery and high availability implementations
- Strong understanding of VMware virtualization management
- Computer science or engineering bachelor’s degree, or comparable work experience
- Strong desire to understand new technologies, especially those related to cloud computing infrastructure
