Position Description
Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute is seeking a qualified and experienced Budget Analyst for a Full-Time and Hybrid role. As the Budget Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and negotiating clinical trial budgets, interpreting clinical trial protocols from a financial perspective, negotiating pricing with study sponsors, and presenting budget proposals to executive leadership. In this role, you will collaborate with the Financial Services teams to ensure the requirements and ramifications of budget design on study accruals and receivables are met.
Responsibilities
– Creating comprehensive study budgets in Excel based on cost and charge information
– Analyzing clinical trial protocols to provide a detailed counteroffer
– Negotiating study budgets with Sponsors/CROs to achieve an outcome favorable for Sarah Cannon and affiliated sites
– Communicating effectively and proactively with clinical staff and leadership to clarify clinical trial protocol specifics, billable items, among others
– Interfacing with Financial Services teams to resolve budget design-related issues
– Serving as the Site Liaison and direct point of contact for budget questions, queries, and considerations from designated Strategic Sites
– Reviewing and processing sponsor requests for assigned budget amendments
– Identifying opportunities for process improvement initiatives
– Participating in protocol and budget review meetings, site operational meetings, and other pertinent meetings
– Preparing and presenting all assigned budgets to executive leadership
– Collaborating with Contract Analyst to generate the final contract for execution
– Utilizing clinical trial management system (CTMS) to assist with historical and new study budget input
– Maintaining the current status of study budget creation and negotiation progress in CTMS
– Using clinical trial management system, MicroStrategy, and other sources to manage priorities, follow‐ups and expectations
Qualifications
– A Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree is preferred
– Intermediate knowledge of basic financial principles
– Functional knowledge of clinical trials preferred
– Analytical decision making
– Project management experience
– Negotiation and professional communication skills
– Knowledgeable in Excel and other data management tools (e.g. CTMS)
