Position Description
General Dynamics is seeking a Bilingual Case Coordinator to support its CUSTOMER activities in Chicago, Illinois, and surrounding areas. The incumbent will handle cases remotely while providing technical assistance to grantees. The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Social Work or a social sciences related discipline and at least 2 years of demonstrated postgraduate child welfare experience. Alternatively, applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a social sciences related discipline and 5 years of postgraduate demonstrated child welfare experience will be considered. The role requires fingerprint background checks and child abuse/neglect checks.
Responsibilities
– Perform thorough reviews, assessments, and complete third party release recommendations related to family reunification options.
– Visit care provider sites to conduct weekly staffing reviews.
– Confer weekly with customer staff and direct care providers to discuss cases employing perspectives from child welfare, juvenile justice, and mental health.
– Write reports on progress and tracking/elevating issues related to program trends.
– Assist care providers to recognize potential victims of trafficking.
– Provide technical assistance to grantees related to policies and procedures.
Qualifications
– Master’s degree in Social Work or a social sciences related discipline and 2 years of demonstrated postgraduate child welfare experience, or
– Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a social sciences related discipline and 5 years of postgraduate demonstrated child welfare experience.
– Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
– Prior experience working with immigrant youth and families is highly preferred.
– Juvenile justice experience can be a differentiator.
– The position requires a Tier 2 Public Trust Investigation.
