Position Description

In this Benefits Coordinator role at BWX Technologies, the successful candidate will provide support in covering both health and welfare, as well as retirement plan benefits. The Benefits Coordinator will process QDRO and QMCSO for the relevant 401K, pension, or health/welfare plan administrators. They will be responsible for all processing of claims related to AD&D, supplemental life, dependent life, employee basic life, and BTA insurance. Additionally, the Benefits Coordinator will collaborate with insurance carriers for prompt and accurate distribution of funds.

Responsibilities

– Investigate file feed data issues for vendors related to BWXT’s benefit administration covering pension, 401K, and health/welfare benefits.
– Assist with various forms of employee leaves such as long-term disability, short-term disability, and unpaid leaves on an as-needed basis.
– Track team HIPAA certification and training needs, collaborate with outside resources for annual training requirements, and ensure that course completion gets registered in the Learning Management System.
– Work to resolve administrative issues on an ad-hoc basis, including 401K loan administration issues, investigations, and pension plan participation claims, among others.
– Support the benefits annual open enrollment processes, including benefits set-up with BWXT’s third-party administrator, benefits rate set-up, and testing.
– Create a Standard Work procedure for all active processes that aid in repeatable and robust execution.

Qualifications

– Require high school diploma, with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent job experience preferred.
– Must possess 3-5 years of experience in the administration of retirement plan benefits or health and welfare benefits.
– Must have exceptional ethical standards, integrity, and discretion.
– Must have proven capability to work alone or as part of a team, prioritizing competing commitments.
– Must be proficient in operating multiple Human Resources applications and systems, which involve testing, transmitting data, administering research work, and generating reports.
– Must have advanced problem-solving ability.
– Preferred Experience with third-party benefits administration systems such as Bswift, Alight, etc.
– Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
– Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with SAP Success Factors and on-prem are a huge plus.
