Under the leadership of the Director, the Associate Director I will support the direction of live Studio, Remote, and REMI productions by aiding with the timing and execution of the show as well as the preparation and assembly of show components. In addition, will offer content suggestions based on evolving sports-related storylines. Strong multitasking, communication, and leadership abilities are required of the ADI.

Responsibilities:

  • Timing elements, keying fonts, and organizing feeds help the director during production. By giving cues and warnings, keeps in touch with live shoots, and makes sure the right framing, audio, and video levels adhere to on-air requirements.
  • ADs will aid the director with reviewing codes and rundown adjustments during Ignite/Automated productions. They will also help with routing, papping, framing, and clearing remote guests.
  • Helps media communicate traffic changes, requests for graphics, music cues, and source changes.
  • Helps the director with the pre-production aspects of the film, such as the billboards, teasers, promotions, graphics, special effects, and virtual imagery. She also organizes the video and fonts used in the production.
  • Will request photographs and monitor graphics in collaboration with the director and production team to support narratives all during the performance. Will either discuss live execution with the director or will perform studio motions with the desired elements during pre-production.
  • Provides documentation (FrameStores, IFBs, booking windows) to Audio and Transmission/VCC in order to verify the locations of visitors (remote and studio).
  • Collaborating with the designated lead Directors to create unique animations and graphics for speciality shows.
  • Participates in meetings with production to help with the creation of the show’s visual content.
  • Aids in the setup of the PCR, including the communications and monitoring build, for the Director, Producer, and Coordinating Producer.
  • Helps the Producer and Director of REMI productions manage game-related duties and traffic. Directly interacts with a variety of positions, such as the red hat or the timeout coordinator, to make sure the game and control room are in sync. creates cards with advertising, sales, and editorial material for broadcast talent. carries out the preproduction phase.
  • Possesses the expertise and skills necessary to stage manage studio-related productions locally and remotely as required by business needs.
  • Aids in educating more recent Associate Directors. gives them input to aid in their progress and submits written documentation to management. Written criticism should be insightful, thorough, and include precise, specific instances.
  • Assumes accountability for one’s own progress through autonomous training and observation. learns about additional roles and tools in the control room and studio that are relevant to the Associate Director position.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities necessary for the position consistently while adhering to the Directing Department performance standards as they relate to leadership, communication, operations, personal growth, and productions.
  • Strong leadership skills are displayed in all interactions and choices.

Requirements:

  • The production of television in its entirety.
  • Verbal communication abilities that are comprehensive, clear, and concise.
  • The capacity to think swiftly under duress.
  • Diligent, focused on the details, enthusiastic about production, intrigued by technology, and consistently brings original ideas.

Preferred credentials:

  • Three years of production experience is required, however network experience is encouraged.
  • Experience as a director is preferred.
  • Spanish and English language proficiency is preferred.

Necessary education

  • Equivalent to a high school diploma

Education preference:

  • Undergraduate degree
