Wider Circle is seeking a Bilingual Community Engagement Specialist in Phoenix, AZ, to join their team. The specialist will be a key contributor to the Connect for Life program, designed to connect neighbors for better health and well-being. This role involves building trust, promoting health, and encouraging meaningful connections among community members to empower them to lead longer, healthier lives.

Key Information:

  • Ideal Candidate: A confident and empathetic individual who can establish trust, switch between group and one-on-one interactions, and connect with members through various means, including in-person group events, home visits, and telephone outreach.
  • Mission: To combat healthcare inequity and serve the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Connect For Life program, using Wider Circle’s curriculum to build trust, promote health, and encourage active participation.
  • Plan, advertise, and host virtual and in-person events, fostering relationships among members to promote wellness.
  • Reach out to members, check in on their well-being, and encourage participation in events and activities.
  • Conduct home visits to review benefits and provide information on available resources through their health plan.
  • Record interactions with members in digital systems.
  • Identify natural leaders among members and invite them to serve as Wider Circle Ambassadors to facilitate engagement.
  • Connect with prospective members and create personalized plans to enroll them in the program.
  • Serve as a liaison, connecting members to health plans and community resources.
  • Establish partnerships with local community organizations to enhance services available to members.
  • Be accountable for achieving membership engagement and growth goals, monitoring success through attendance and feedback metrics.

Requirements:

  • Passion for helping and serving others.
  • Understanding of socio-economic and public health challenges facing disenfranchised individuals.
  • 3+ years of relevant community outreach, teaching, facilitation, or volunteer experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s or associate’s degree is a plus.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to engage with people in various settings.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and web-based applications.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Reliable transportation for traveling to members’ homes (20-50 miles).
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional work outside regular business hours.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment substance abuse testing and background checks.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
