Cockroach Labs is looking for a Senior Partner Solutions Architect with a focus on MSFT Azure. In this role, you will play a crucial part in establishing and nurturing the strategic alliance between Cockroach Labs and Azure. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise in software architecture and cloud computing, engaging with partners and customers at various levels, and strategically addressing business, product, and technical challenges. While remote applicants are welcome, preference will be given to candidates in the NYC-metro area.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to Azure counterparts, Cockroach Labs cross-functional teams, and mutual customers.
• Act as a strategic technical leader to offer architectural guidance and integration recommendations for partner engagements worldwide.
• Ensure the success of customers and partners in designing, building, and migrating applications to the Azure platform.
• Lead in-depth architectural discussions and design exercises to create top-tier solutions.
• Contribute to joint customer-facing publications like white papers, blogs, and proof of concepts.
• Collaborate on a sales strategy with your alliance manager to surpass revenue objectives.
• Cultivate strong relationships with senior technical staff at Azure and encourage them to support CockroachDB.
• Share and promote best practices within the Cockroach Labs solutions architect community.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats.

Expectations:

• Within the first 30 days, build a foundation by becoming proficient in CockroachDB.
• By the end of the first 90 days, refine the alliance strategy, initiate key collaborations, and establish the groundwork for revenue growth through cloud partnerships. Ensure alignment within your team and active engagement with cloud partners.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of at least 5 years in pre-sales and/or partnership roles within the cloud technology sector.
• 7-10+ years of experience in designing, implementing, or consulting on distributed applications.
• Deep understanding of cloud ecosystems, including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Cross-functional collaboration and leadership capabilities.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on revenue growth and business impact.
• Willingness to travel as required.
