Working with pre-existing animation templates and honing abilities to produce ever more sophisticated customized animations are the responsibilities of ESPN’s Animator I position. as addition to being able to work well as a team, people must also be successful on their own. This is a hands-on position that involves providing creative support for ongoing production and long-term assignments. It requires solid working knowledge of After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop, Illustrator, and preferably some familiarity with 3D concepts and software.
Responsibilities:
- Create material for ESPN programming by utilizing already-existing animation files and assets.
- Convert task specifics and creative guidance into aesthetically appealing solutions.
- Progressively improve your ability to create bespoke animations
- Excellent teamwork abilities; open to suggestions and change requests
- Able to effortlessly switch between projects and prioritize a variety of tasks
- A strong focus on details, deadlines, delivery requirements, and established project workflows
- The ability to engineer animation projects for effective versioning, rendering, and archiving is anticipated.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and group communication skills
- Produces graphics, including daily show production design, for studio shows and remote events.
Requirements:
- Basic expertise in After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop, and Illustrator are required for entry-level positions.
- Fundamental knowledge of design principles, animation, motion theory, and composition
- A strong focus on details, deadlines, delivery requirements, and established project workflows
- Good general attitude, open to innovative and constructive criticism, and capable of easily adjusting to task requirements
- Able to work independently and with confidence in a fast-paced team setting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork capabilities
- Driven to proactively pick up fresh software
- A link to the applicant’s online portfolio or demo reel is required.
- Capable of working flexible hours and on-site as needed by the business
Basic requirements:
- After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D skills at the beginning level
- Online resume and demo reel
- This hybrid position necessitates a weekday mix of onsite (in Los Angeles, CA) and remote (from home) work. Candidates need a dependable setup for working from home (a personal computer with a dependable internet connection).
- Being able to work weekends, holidays, and late hours as needed for projects
Preferred credentials:
- Experience programming for After Effects
- An desire in developing your 3D skills and a working knowledge of Cinema 4D or a similar 3D application
- A background in collaborating with clients and producing content that adheres to agreed brand criteria
- Prior college or professional employment experience in sports design and/or animation
- Sports-related interest and ESPN programming knowledge
Necessary education
- Diploma from high school
Education preference:
- Degree in fine arts, animation, graphic design, or a similar field (or equivalent job experience)
Additional Details:
- The individual must be present in the Los Angeles office for this position.
Based on a 40-hour work week, the basic pay range for this position in Los Angeles, California is $65,412 to $81,765. Depending on company needs, the weekly timetable may change. Depending on the level and job offered, the remuneration package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units in addition to the complete range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
