Responsibilities:
The primary duty of the Manager of Business Development is to approach retailers in the Southeast Los Angeles, California region and encourage them to accept the American Express Card as a means of payment from their clients, with a focus on B2B transactions. In this role, you will discover important merchant opportunities with up to $1 billion in yearly revenue and put those ideas and solutions into practice. Business development managers offer solutions based on their in-depth understanding of American Express, the market, and their potential. Gathering and sharing market and competitor information, organizing all internal resources required to enable each sale, and carrying out proper account setup and merchant training are additional duties.
Successful Business Development Managers find, qualify, and filter leads to efficiently manage a pipeline of prospects. They do this via cold calling and prospecting. They conduct thorough research, make strategic plans, and are educated about the businesses and sectors they target. They have excellent organizational, analytical, decision-making, verbal, writing, and interpersonal abilities. In order to effectively communicate the financial and marketing value of product solutions and close sales, strong financial acumen is also required. In order to ensure long-term relationship building and achieve corporate objectives, managers of business development must also be able to create and deliver formal presentations. They must also make fantastic use of their excellent consultative solution selling skills.
Requirements:
- Preferably with a university degree
- Requires three to five years of productive outside sales experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.
- Salesforce.com or comparable experience is a plus.
- An asset is deemed to be having some working knowledge of connected American Express goods and services.
- Understanding of Southeast Los Angeles, California.
- It is necessary to reside in the territory, with up to 5% of overnight trips taking place there.
- Strong commercial and financial sense.
- Self-motivated and disciplined enough to operate independently in a home office setting.
- Have prospecting for leads experience.
- A current driver’s license is required of the applicant. All chosen candidates will have their driving records checked at the time of the offer. During the application procedure, it is necessary to disclose any moving offenses that occurred within the previous three years (including, but not limited to: speeding tickets, refusals to submit to blood alcohol tests, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and driver’s license suspension for moving offences).
