This role will function as a D2 Inventory Specialist, report to the Assistant Traffic Manager, and be responsible for the overall effectiveness of the ABC OTVS traffic team. The D2 Inventory Specialist will be in charge of daily log production, inventory management, spot preemption, and communication with the station sales team regarding log and inventory information as part of this role. Additionally, the D2 Inventory Specialist must be open to cross-training in the sales, operations, station programming, copy, and promotions areas of the station. In order to share inventory data, enhance standardization, and exchange best practices, the D2 Inventory Specialist will also be expected to collaborate closely with the specialists on the other teams.
The accuracy of logs, overall management of displaced units, reporting and analytics, best practices and improved standardization in WideOrbit, the ratio of displaced spot performance for the assigned station, and outreach to other OCTO specialists and station contacts will all be used to gauge the success of the D2 Inventory Specialist. The D2 Inventory Specialist may be expected to work shifts between M-F 8am and 830pm EST, depending on the market to which they have been allocated. It will be necessary to collaborate with the OCTO team on business goals and strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the creation of logs and inventory management
- Ensures the accuracy of inventory preparation and localish log preparation for all ABC OTVS D2 stations.
- To maintain WideOrbit and standardized procedures within the system, collaborate with station contacts.
- To learn about network programming, speak with the OCTO programming team directly.
- Follow the OCTO guidelines and coordinate preemptions, reinstatements, time changes, etc. with stations.
- Troubleshoot log difficulties with OCTO managers, inventory specialists, and station contacts. Collaborate closely with other OCTO professionals on inventory and reporting concerns and issues.
- Work proactively with the aforementioned stakeholders to improve the standardization and streamlining of analytics and inventory.
- Program house numbers must be entered completely for each Localish log.
- Keeping OCTO/station expectations regarding displaced places in mind while working with a team of inventory specialists
- Work with the OCTO management on the areas where inventory is an issue, and keep management up to date on any developments that could affect inventory.
- Regularly take part in the inventory meetings at the station.
- Help with the OCTO mission statement, improve the stations’ revenue potential, and offer best practices that simultaneously boost profits and better working conditions.
- Discuss best practices and exchange ideas with other OCTO management teams and stations on a regular basis.
- Deliver exemplary customer service to both outside clients and the ABC OTVS stations.
- Together with OCTO management, test new software releases for WO and give comments on them as well as any other WO improvements that are required.
Requirements:
Qualifications requisite
- At least one year of professional job experience or an internship
- Absolute perfection in attention to detail
- For the best sales and pricing processes, familiarity with broadcast sales protocol and analytics/reports is necessary.
- Ability to conduct video calls using Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams and communicate effectively, especially over the phone and email.
- Experience with WideOrbit is preferred, although familiarity with other traffic systems is taken into account.
- Experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is necessary.
- Ability to oversee remote work/setup is required
