Job Description

Job Type: Software Engineer from home
Location: Florida work from home
Company: Cere Network

Regardless of the position or team, there are a few qualities we seek for in every employee at Cere:

  • We are looking for coworkers who will thrive in our high-energy office, where methodical, simulation-driven, quick development iterations and a first-principles attitude are the norm.
  • We desire coworkers that uphold high standards and rigorous discipline while adopting a growth mentality to continuously learn and gradually enhance routines and procedures.
  • Due to the need for everything to be meticulously structured and maintained in Notion, Slack, Wikis, etc., we demand that contributors have good communication abilities, especially writing skills. We seek independent, goal-oriented people who value accountability and openness. Nobody likes to micromanage other people.
  • In order to build a fantastic team and decentralized community where everyone genuinely supports and challenges each other to learn and grow by inventing together toward greater shared goals, we need good teammates who are also generally cool people. The only way we can maintain rapid innovation (and, in reality, the only way to live and work) is to embrace the development of such a collaborative society.

Requirements:

  • Requirements include having at least five years—preferably ten—of experience—working as a software engineer on storage and distributed systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of at least one contemporary programming language, such as Go, Rust, Typescript, Java, or Kotlin.
  • Thorough knowledge of system design, data structures, and algorithms, as well as blockchain, web3, and decentralized systems.

Great to have:

  • Knowledge of the internals (storage) of database engines, including indexing, access techniques, concurrency control, logging, caching, transaction processing, replication, backup, and restore.
  • Proficiency with the inner workings of database engines (query processing), including query compilation, optimization, execution, and parallel execution.
  • Knowledge of IPFS and other decentralized storage technologies.
  • Knowledge of creating SDKs and giving back to open-source initiatives.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, particularly the development of NoSQL systems and consensus-based quorum replication.
