The position assists in the coordination of general ledger consolidation, administration of reporting applications, preparation of management reports, preparation and/or review of GAAP disclosures, and significant involvement in related enterprise projects. The position also supports the accounting for the company’s investments in securities and the investment consolidation function. In order to implement business strategy and find opportunities for consistency and improvement across the enterprise, the position will collaborate closely with matrix partners. The job may also aid in the creation of new products and policy studies. The candidate must exercise independent judgment and discretion to recognize important trends or issues and to offer top management ideas or highlights. A bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting is required, as well as at least six years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities:

• Complete the necessary deliverables for international and security investment activity monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles.
• Consolidate investment activity and distribute it throughout multiple corporate segments by coordinating the general ledger process.
• For US GAAP and statutory filings, create and/or combine investment-related exhibits and schedules. oversee the XBRL filing procedure for quarterly investment-related disclosures.
• Create management reports for the examination of key investment balances, performance, and trends by senior finance leadership.
• Comprehensive monthly reporting and analysis of business partners both inside and outside the company.
• Assist the investment accounting position in important enterprise projects involving automated reporting, ledger transfer, and infrastructure.
• Create and maintain controls for duties related to reporting and operations.

Requirements:

• BS with a focus on accounting
• Experience in accounting and finance for at least six years
• Experience in investment accounting is strongly desired.
• Experience in public accounting is strongly desired.
• Strong communication skills both in writing and speaking
• A track record of success as a leader in a matrix reporting environment
• Powerful analytical abilities for interpreting and assessing financial results
• Demonstrated capacity to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced workplace.
• Flexibility to work when necessary during important reporting periods during off-peak hours
• Ability to operate both independently and cooperatively
• Motivated, proactive self-starter who prioritizes results and assumes responsibility
• Computer literacy is necessary.
