What you intend to do

• Creates new and maintains existing applications under the supervision of senior developers, including but not limited to bug repairs, feature upgrades, and performance optimization in the Corporate Security, Emergency Preparedness & Response, Environmental, and Safety IT portfolios.
• Investigates and deploys new technologies in order to improve current procedures, security, and performance.
• Complex issues are troubleshooted and debugged; solutions are identified and implemented.
• Works as part of a team to develop thorough project specifications, requirements, and estimates, and ensures that tasks/projects are executed on time and within budget.
• Works with the production operations department to ensure that deployments go well and that client groups receive adequate support.
• Validation of design decisions is documented.
• Helps the development group’s implementation of policy and procedural improvements.
• Helps the creation of coding standards and follows the development team’s best practices and security recommendations.
• Takes part in code reviews
• As needed, provides on-call production assistance (24 x 7 x 365).

Everything you’ll need to succeed

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, technology, information systems (CIS/MIS), engineering, or a similar technical subject is required, or comparable experience/training.
• Total development experience of two years
• 1 year of experience with online applications or services

Education and prior job experience are preferred qualifications.

• Total development experience of 2+ years
• 2+ years of web application development experience
• Experience in the airline industry
