The Global Security team continuously works to advance the security, safety, and emergency preparedness of the Company through a variety of initiatives, including employee awareness, communications, outreach, and training opportunities. Safety and security are important pillars of The Walt Disney Company.
The Chief Security Officer receives strategic advice from the Strategic Security Operations team, which includes searching for new potential for efficiency and effectiveness through enhanced procedures, structures, and technology. The team is in charge of leading and directing the overall global security strategy, putting significant initiatives into action that have an influence on both the department and the entire company, and coordinating all security teams and programs around the department purpose.
The chief of staff’s duties, business strategy, and internal communications & employee engagement are among the team’s primary tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Global Security team’s Slack channel by organizing monthly content planning sessions, conducting copywriting tasks, and, as necessary, creating graphics.
- Contribute to the Global Security newsletter and website by posting frequent content on an internal WordPress site, among other things.
- Keep tabs on indicators linked to employee communications activities, such as newsletter readership and web portal usage, and regularly deliver reports, analyses, and recommendations based on the findings.
- Support departmental events, such as town halls, social and networking gatherings, volunteer opportunities, and learning and development opportunities, via event management and planning.
- Create surveys that are conceptualized and relevant to events and initiatives, and then use the data to offer insightful analysis and suggestions.
- Support important departmental programs, such as the Global Security Talent Development Program, as needed.
- Support team or departmental strategic projects or executive demands by assisting with the creation and editing of project plans, reports, presentations, etc.
- Provide fresh suggestions for ongoing development pertaining to any team initiative.
Requirements:
- You’re a doer with left and right brain inclinations who enjoys creating project plans and has an excellent sense of typography, color, and layout
- A capable writer and editor who can effectively create educational and inspirational material and present fresh story ideas. This position entails writing primarily for several internal platforms.
- A perceptive person with a passion for employee engagement and culture
- A proactive problem-solver with the ability to multitask, work autonomously, and adapt to change.
- WordPress proficiency in either a professional or personal capacity, including page and article layout creation.
- A critical thinker who feels at ease designing surveys, examining communications metrics, and giving presentations on the findings.
- A superb multitasker and organizer who can handle many chores and projects at once.

The hourly wage for this online internship is $29.80.
Eligibility for an internship
- Must have graduated from a college or university within six months OR must be presently enrolled in a Disney College Program or Disney
- Professional Internship OR must have at least one class taken in the semester or quarter (spring/fall) previous to participation in the internship program.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have not worked continuously for one year on a Disney internship or program.
- a valid work permit with no restrictions
- This internship will run roughly from June 2023 until January 2024.
- Throughout the duration of the internship, the candidate must be available to work full-time hours (about 40 hours per week).
- As this internship is remote, it is necessary to have both a quiet, dedicated workspace and a functioning, dependable internet connection.
