Responsibilities:

This person will be in charge of the Data Network Assurance Performance Team in the East. This team is in charge of the E2E customer experience, which includes monitoring the performance of EPC core equipment, customer-related metrics, and acting on degradations and outages detected using various tools. The following are some of the major areas of focus and responsibility:

This position is responsible for monitoring the following equipment: DSO / VZB support (P, PE, Brocade, Firewall, ISP links, EDN & COIN links, VCP, eNSE, MSE), SAP equipment (virtual & physical): VCP, eNSE, IEN support, Virtual Application Support, IP infrastructure, Routers and switches, Backhaul, OTNGN, UT, MSE, lit/dark fiber

• Continuing the development of a network call flow and performance team of SMEs.
• Leading the team as we continue to evolve the network, relying less on purpose-built hardware and focusing more on virtual network functions.
• Assuring network performance and reliability on a daily basis for the best customer experience in the markets.
• Supporting the performance aspect of the record build and expansion of applications, operations, and maintenance of wireless EPC and 5GC applications within our Systems Aggregation Points (SAPs), also known as Data Distribution Centers.
• Assessing and developing workforce training curriculum, as well as organizing and scheduling the resources required to support a wide range of network monitoring and changes.
• Interacting with and supporting all local departments in the organization on a daily basis, such as Performance, Engineering, Transport Engineering, Planning, and Sales, to ensure performance metrics are met.
• Interacting with NRB, NMC, HQ Service Performance, Compliance, Engineering, and Operations.
• Leading and driving bridge discussions with customers to reduce or eliminate customer impact.

In this hybrid role, you will have a set work location, which will include work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience are required.
• Six years of relevant work experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Willingness to travel for up to 25% of the time.
• Four years of relevant experience in one or more of the following fields is required: wireless networks, telecommunications, radio communications, and IP networks.

It’s even better if you have at least one of the following:

• Master of Arts.
• Two years of demonstrated managerial/leadership experience is required. Experience managing remote teams is preferred.
• Experience as a service provider in MSC, Cell Operations, and/or System Performance.
• Extensive experience in the following areas: Wireless networks, RF design, performance, and IP networks and routing are all topics covered.
• Knowledge of SDN and NFV.
• Networking knowledge, including IP addressing, routing, and Ethernet switching.
• Understanding of network protocols and transmission facilities (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, Dark Fiber).
• Knowledge of LTE/5G RAN and Core technologies, Fiber systems, and the UNIX and Linux operating systems is required.
• Knowledge of voice and/or data call flows for 4G and 5G networks, describing network elements from cell to internet.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of large-scale AC and DC power systems.
• Knowledge of large-scale HVAC equipment.
• Outstanding leadership and management abilities.
• Process engineering, financial analysis, and creative thinking skills are required.
• Strong project management skills and a track record of managing deliverables and meeting deadlines are required.
• Willingness to work extremely flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and evenings as needed.
• Capability to be a strong administrator with budget management experience.
• Working experience in a switching office, data center, or similar environment.
• Knowledge of building management and plant equipment, as well as a methodical thought process, contribute to solid troubleshooting abilities in difficult situations.
