About UPS Technology’s Application Development:

Our Application Development teams create next-generation technology by leveraging their expertise in programming languages and software design. They are in charge of developing the applications that track and transport up to 38 million packages in a single day (4.7 billion annually). This team collaborates closely with all of our customers to develop innovative technologies that are tailored to drive our business and provide the best customer experience possible. You will help UPS grow and provide valuable services around the world as a member of the applications development family.

Concerning this role:

The Applications Developer contributes to and supports all aspects of system life cycle management. Tasks are completed within the timeframes and deadlines specified. This position works with teams to ensure effective communication in support of goal achievement. Knowledge, application development, maintenance, and support are all provided. To meet business requirements, participates in component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives. This position contributes to the plans and integrations of application development projects. Collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication and goal achievement. This position is responsible for application development, integration, and maintenance knowledge and support. This role is involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation.

Applications The developer will be a member of a team that works on UPS.com Authorization and Authentication. Position is required to construct an abstraction layer in order to reduce the impact of IMS modernization on client applications. IMS Modernization will update the CIAM on UPS.com with new features such as Multi Factor Authentication, Step Up Authentication, and Trusted Devices. These modifications are part of the UPS.com Transformation Workstream 2.

Experienced software developer with a background in Java applications and REST web services.

Additionally, the candidate should have prior experience developing Java UI servlet / JSP applications. Linux, Tomcat, WebLogic, Maven, and Jenkins expert.
