The Principle Engineer II will collaborate with the Enterprise Digital Team and Retail teams to create and implement a digital pharmacy strategy while reporting to the Head of Digital Engineering. You will personally create and launch ambient digital pharmacy initiatives in your capacity as Principal Engineer II. You will create a unified technical roadmap by combining research and technologies from throughout the enterprise. You will demonstrate ambient initiatives that answer the problems of our clients. You’ll spend a lot of time working with Rest APIs, Microservices, Lambdas, Streaming, ML, K8S/Dockers, and using certain serverless setups for API integration. You will have the chance to give strategic leadership for our application products’ and services’ cutting-edge technology-based software development.

We are searching for a Principal Software Engineer II with expertise leading development decisions, advising team members, and guiding architectural design decisions. In this position, you’ll exhibit executive-level skills, take the initiative, have a keen eye for design, be able to do some hands-on coding as needed, and have a talent for seeing ideas through to completion. In order to clearly communicate the genuine total value of each technical solution and the entire business outcome, you will collaborate with Value Architects, Product, and Engineer teams as a Principal Engineer. Responsibilities:

  • To successfully execute across the Cloud, backend solution, Streaming, ML, and other technologies, one must: provide technical vision; drive strategy around solutions; solve challenging challenges; and
  • Use partners, technical leads, and technical skills to better inform processes and outcomes as an executive technical leader across strategic efforts.
  • Serve as the technical lead for all strategic initiatives including the cloud, backend systems, streaming, ML, and other technologies.
  • Jointly collaborate on product strategy, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirement collection with CVS technical leaders and the open source community.
  • Deliver domain expertise and engineering insight to speed up project decision-making, direct early designs, and closely monitor technical execution.
  • Become a trusted decision-maker for significant projects with high technical or outcome risk by encouraging and maintaining engineering excellence on the team to construct dependable distributed systems that our customers can base their businesses on

Pay Scale

The usual pay scale for this position is as follows: 140,000 minimum; 280,000 maximum

Requirements:

Required credentials

  • 10+ years of expertise in application program development and systems analysis
  • 10+ years of management experience with big software development teams
  • 3+ years of experience handling customer needs and technological solutions while developing enterprise solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with open source distributions or Confluent Kafka
  • a minimum of three years of expertise with cloud computing. have experience creating in a public cloud environment like GCP/Azure or another one
  • five or more years of coding experience in at least one of the following languages: Scala, Java, Node.js, C++, Perl, and Python
  • Agile software development experience spanning five or more years
  • Worked on Kubernetes, Argo, GIT, Jenkins, Maven, JUnit, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory, and CICD Pipeline automation for at least two years in a DevOps role.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Big Data Operations Support Systems (OSS) (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Ranger, etc.)

Preferred Requirements

  • Working knowledge of engineering and research
  • Knowledge of working with remote teams that span multiple time zones and locations
  • Experience in the health and wellness sector Experience working as full stack developers when necessary Experience creating user-facing features and/or apps.
  • Ability to coordinate technical direction among teams through inspiration and persuasion
  • being able to develop and carry out roadmaps that take innovation, advancement, and the requirement for reliable scaling into account
  • have created patents and contributed to open source technology
  • Ability to interact across organizational boundaries, forge relationships, and accomplish more general organizational goals. Ability to learn/work with developing technologies, processes, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology arena.

Education: An equivalent combination of formal education and experience, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field. The preferred degree is a master’s.
