Position Description:
You will work as an ML Engineer to enhance the open-source usability of Document AI models and datasets. You will endeavor to expand open-source use cases and boost the accessibility of models with permissive licenses by constructing datasets and training models from scratch, replicating and improving upon cutting-edge Document AI methodologies. Many open-source tools, such as Transformers, Datasets, TIMM, Diffusers, OpenCLIP, and others will be available for you to use. You’ll be using PyTorch mostly, though if you scale up small tests to bigger ones, you might also work with clusters.
You’ll get to support one of the busiest machine learning communities and communicate daily via GitHub, our forums, or Slack with researchers, ML practitioners, and data scientists. You’re passionate about open-source, want to make difficult technology more approachable, and want to contribute to one of the ML ecosystems that is expanding the quickest.
Several of our prerequisites for this position are as follows:
- Working knowledge of AI transformer models for multimodal and document formats
- Having built and trained models from scratch, going through hyperparameter optimization, and troubleshooting training stability and performance problems
- Experience with huge picture and/or text databases, including curating, enhancing, and troubleshooting
- Experience with slurm tasks and clusters for executing experiments.
