We are looking for a motivated, organized self-starter to join our corporate-based engineering team as a Regional Manager (RM) of Facilities Maintenance. To supervise and guide Facilities Managers and Facilities Area Managers, the team is made up of two more RMs who report to the Facilities Maintenance Director (Shift supervisors). In a hectic, dynamic work environment, the main duty is to maximize equipment uptime while carrying out equipment maintenance and projects.

The chosen applicant will have extensive experience in data driven management and leadership, workplace safety, and facilities upkeep. An advantage is having experience with MHE systems and applications, packaging automation, distribution procedures, and storage systems. The applicant must be a self-starter with the capacity to manage numerous complicated projects and activities concurrently as well as the ability to interact with and influence people at all organizational levels. The applicant must be able to supervise the maintenance acceptance of a substantial and intricate project. Additionally, this person must be skilled at mentoring and giving technical leadership to the leadership of facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, mentorship, and management to field-based Facilities Managers in order to expand and continuously enhance Amazon’s North American Fulfillment Network.
• Vehicle upkeep exemplary practices Improve procedures and the experience of Amazon customers through innovating, documenting, improving work techniques, standardizing, providing a safe work environment and requiring safe work practices, training, commissioning equipment, collecting, measuring, and analyzing key performance indicators.
• Using ROI and other analytical tools, provide senior leadership with advice on maintenance and equipment end-of-life (EOL) issues.
• Oversee the creation, implementation, and capital planning of budgets.
• Manage vendor connections for equipment and support, and take advantage of Amazon’s broad network to achieve the greatest possible economies of scale.
• Conduct regular audits, enforcement, and on-site monitoring of maintenance execution, safe work practices, and the implementation and oversight of training drills across the network.
• Benefit the North American network by utilizing the complete maintenance crew.
• Create and maintain budget and contract documentation, such as RFPs, policies for controlling change orders, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Give general managers of fulfillment centers access to information on the duties of facilities managers so they may better comprehend, guide, train, and supervise FMs.
• Find, interview, and employ candidates for the positions of Facilities Area Manager and Facilities Maintenance who set the standard high.
• Assist in establishing a top-tier organization for facilities maintenance.
• Be able and willing to relocate to meet Amazon’s demands.

Requirements:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Previous corporate and/or regional facilities roles leading 250 or more employees, including salaried employees • Experience leading change in a multiple site environment • 7+ years experience managing employees and their performance • Ability to travel up to 80%

• Entrepreneur. Strong evidence of achieving driving objectives with little daily monitoring.
Strong knowledge and experience with the major MHE integrators. Exposure to Lean Concepts, TOC, layout design, cost/benefit analysis, labor productivity analysis (time studies, standardized work), safety/ergonomics/human factors. Experienced in the maintenance of large, complex integrated systems and material handling equipment.
• MBA or other Masters degree and/or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification are plusses. • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and SQL.
Registration as a Professional Engineer is an advantage.
