A reputable mortgage company is seeking a Social Media Manager to become part of their team. This individual can be seated completely remotely, yet it would be ideal if they were seated close to San Diego, California (though this is not necessary).

The management and implementation of the employer’s social media strategy and operations, with a primary focus on the field sales force (Loan Officers), will fall under the purview of this Social Media Manager position, which will more closely resemble a Social Media Influencer Coach function. In order to guarantee the implementation of successful social media strategies in line with the employer’s vision, this crucial function will require close collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Communications, and other Vice Presidents (see below).

Responsibilities:

The Social Media Manager will also be accountable for the following additional duties, though not exclusively:

  • Work together to develop a social media program for retail loan officers and incorporate social media strategies with the Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Communications, and other Vice Presidents.
  • Launch and manage a social media outreach program to connect with loan officers. This will involve creating and sharing talking points, playbooks, and social media-focused sales calls.
  • Carry out tactical strategies that reinforce the employer’s position and stay in touch with field sales teams to guarantee agreement and efficient execution.
  • Be in charge of scheduling follow-up meetings with the field regions to ensure that members of the sales team have useful information and can use social media to expand their reach.
  • Manage the employer’s social media accounts, creating content quickly and scheduling posts to increase the company’s online visibility and audience engagement.
  • Staying ahead of the curve and adjusting to the shifting landscape requires research into the identification of social media trends, best practices, and upcoming platforms.
  • Work together with internal teams from marketing, sales, compliance, training, and other departments to guarantee that social media initiatives and messaging are consistent throughout the company, aligned with regulations, and up to date.
  • Educate and counsel salespeople on social media, enabling them to take advantage of social media tools and platforms to expand their customer base and expand their business.
  • Manage and collaborate with social media influencers in the sales industry, offering direction, encouragement, and acknowledgment for their contributions.
  • Oversee the internal social media accounts for the business. carry out additional tasks as given.

APPS/PROGRAMS:

  • Tools for managing social media, such Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, or equivalent.
  • Software for editing photos and videos, including CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or others of a similar nature.
  • Microsoft Suite: Moderate use of PowerPoint and Excel – Microsoft Outlook

GO:

Although it will be involved, travel will not be a top priority for this function. Once a month, the Chief Marketing Officer makes a trip to the company’s San Diego headquarters. It’s likely that the Social Media Manager will visit him occasionally in San Diego. He or she could have to travel for important occasions (like leadership conferences).

SHIFT:

Monday through Friday

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Start timings are negotiable based on personal taste and time zone.

Requirements:

Competencies and prerequisites

  • An equivalent combination of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or a similar field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience actively developing social media strategy and mentoring employees in social media best practices within a company or brand.
  • Display a sizable portfolio of your own social media content that demonstrates your ability to coach and your experience mentoring others on social media tactics. not merely producing material for other people, but also mentoring others in the art of content creation.
  • Expertise in using systems like Buffer, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or other social media management tools.
  • Expertise in using programs for editing photos and videos, such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar programs.
  • A track record of successfully executing the aforementioned requirements in a financial institution setting, such as a mortgage company.
